Harold Watson’s “Trey” Gowdy III is a US lawyer, former attorney, politician and current U.S. Representative for the 4th Congressional District of South Carolina. In the South Carolina Appeals Court, he began a legal career as a cleric, and then served as a federal prosecutor in the early 1990s in the District of South Carolina.
For about six years, he has been prosecuting varied federal crimes and achieving the highest ratings that a two-year-old federal prosecutor can achieve. He served as a prosecutor of the seventh South Carolina Judicial Circuit until his elective in Congress, a Member of the Republican Party and Tea Party movement.

Trey Gowdy was born on 22 August 1964 to Dr Harold Watson’s “Hal” Gowdy, Jr and Novalene, born Evans, in the province of Greenville, South Carolina. In Spartanburg, he was raised.

Gowdy won 39% of the vote at the June 2010 primary election, while the UK and Jim Lee, David L. Thomas and Christina Jeffrey, respectively, received 27%, 14%, 13%, and 7%.
Since he could not obtain 50% votes, he and Inglis held a run-off election where he won 70% of the votes. He then defeated, among others, Democrat candidate Paul Corden, to win the Fourth Election of the South Carolina Conference District, 2010.
