Until joining Xscape, LaTocha Scott had collaborated with a group named Precise. Although attending the Tri-Cities Performing Arts High School in East Point, Georgia, Scott ‘s sister Tamika met with Kandi Burruss.
The three began singing together and recruited the fourth member, Tamera Coggins, although her time with the band was short-lived. Soon Tameka “Tiny” Cottle was approached to give the girls an audition, and Xscape was officially created.
