LaTocha Scott worked together with a group called Specific before joining Xscape. In the East Point, Georgia, Scott ‘s sister Tamika met Kandi Burruss when she attended the Tri-Cities Performer Arts High School.
The three started singing together and recruited Tamera Coggins, a fourth member, although the band’s tenure was limited. Shortly afterwards Tameka “Small” Cottle was asked for a hearing, and Xscape was formed officially.
